Hello and welcome to Essendon Mazda's
January e-news.
Greetings everyone and Happy New Year!
Now the festive season is over we’re all facing a return to work, obligation and responsibility. But I’m sure that just like any other year, a positive attitude, hard but smart work and high ethical standards will continue to be rewarded.
We’re now very well settled into our new dealership at Essendon Fields, and both our staff and our customers are enjoying the state-of-the-art facility. If you haven’t experienced it yet, please do drop in. We’re confident you will be impressed.
In this month’s e-news we’re featuring some impressive deals across the Mazda range, as well as savings on parts and accessories, and great prices on genuine Mazda services.
We congratulate two of our longest-serving employees as they reach 15 years with the dealership, and we announce the winner of our $10,000 giveaway.
Happy reading and all the best for 2009.
Sincerely,
Joe Cucuzza
Dealer Principal

CONGRATULATIONS ANGELO AND LAURIE
This month we pay tribute to Angelo Condidorio and Laurie Wilks, who are both celebrating 15 years as part of the Essendon Mazda team.
Angelo began his career as a Sales Consultant taking up the role of New Car Manager approximately seven years ago. When asked about the recent move to Wirraway Road, he replied, “Our move to the new premises in late August has meant that we now operate from a purposely built facility – allowing for greater display of the growing new Mazda Range, covering from the ever-popular Mazda 2 through to the seven-seater CX9 and sports cars. We now carry a larger mix of BT50 Commercials – ready for delivery.”
Together with Esanda Finance, state-of-the-art Service Department and the Mazda product, sales have soared into the new year, producing three record breaking weeks.
Angelo gets great job satisfaction from watching happy customers drive away in their new cars knowing quite well that their buying experience has been a good one – and very likely they will “Tell a Friend”.
Laurie endorses Angelo’s thoughts: “The move to Wirraway Road has given everyone including our clients a fresh home to appreciate the Mazda product and the future looks good.”
Laurie enjoys meeting new people and satisfying customers so much that he even married one of his customers. That’s right – Laurie met Tonette when selling her a new Mazda and they wed in 2000. He loves his new extended family and they have purchased around 20 cars from him over the years. Laurie is a Vietnam Veteran and is a member of the Keilor East RSL. Its members strongly support him when looking for a new car.
Well, these two have certainly made life easier for us and their many satisfied customers. Well done boys!

ESSENDON MAZDA’S LUCKY SECRET
Lucky Secret's love affair with Moonee Valley continued last Friday night when he ruined the comebacks of higher-profile stars El Segundo and Light Fantastic to win the Essendon Mazda Norman Carlyon Stakes over 1200 metres.
Aided by lower-than-expected early tempo, the Tony Vasil-trained speed machine led all the way, defeating a gallant Light Fantastic and three-year-old Von Costa De Hero.
The win was Lucky Secret's sixth from seven starts at the Valley and justified jockey Danny Brereton's decision to stick with him instead of El Segundo, which finished fifth after 15 months on the sidelines.
The Spring Racing Carnival might get most of the attention but night racing at Moonee Valley is proving extremely popular. It’s a great night out for the entire family and we’re proud to be associated with it.
The next meeting is on February 6. See you there! |
Late last year management consultant Ann Varney was searching for a new company car to replace the Mazda Astina she’d been driving for the past 10 years.
There were four cars on her potential shopping list, including the Mazda 3. In the end the Mazda won out because it was the only one of the four not to require premium unleaded petrol. “We opted for the Mazda 3, being the most economical and the best value,” she said. “I just wanted a car that ran on ordinary petrol.”
Well, she got more than that. On buying the car Ann went into the draw for our $10,000 giveaway, a prize she duly won. She picked up the car and the cheque on December 24 – a nice little Christmas bonus! And like a good business person she put the money straight back into her company, Varney McLean Pty Ltd, to offset the purchase of the Mazda 3.
Congratulations Ann!
