AUSTRALIA’S NUMBER ONE SMALL CAR
The ever popular Mazda3 has again been the number one selling small car for the third time this year making it Australia’s number one small car.
This year recorded the best-ever May sales for the Mazda3 up 17.7 per cent on May 2008 with the next generation model continuing to make in-roads with buyers.
The sleeky and sporty model has also become the second highest selling passenger car overall, narrowing the gap with the country’s top-selling model, making Mazda Australia’s fourth best-selling brand.
Mazda Australia managing director Doug Dickson said, “New Generation Mazda3 is showing strong signs that it will continue the success of its perennially popular predecessor. We believe the secret to this success is offering the right product for the times”.
“New Generation Mazda3 combines state-of-the art safety features, class-leading handling and an outstanding list of standard equipment, including Satellite Navigation and Bluetooth, all in a dynamic and good-looking package.”
This has contributed to Mazda selling 30,197 new cars for the year-to-date holding an 8.6 per cent market share.

Winter is approaching and the snow season is only just around the corner.
As you prepare to hit the slopes this year it is important to ensure that you take the appropriate steps while on the road.
Here are our snow driving safety tips:
•
Watch your speed and adjust according to the weather. Slow down when conditions deteriorate and proceed with caution, particularly in fog, snow or ice.
•
Use fog lights or head lights when the weather gets bad so other drivers can see you.
•
Take care overtaking. Never overtake on a hill, at a bend or at intersections.
•
Don't tailgate. Braking distances in snow and ice are increased compared to dry conditions. Keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front.
•
Brake and accelerate gently. Braking should be gentle and early. When you accelerate, make sure you do it slowly
•
Don’t drive if you can’t see the edge of the road or the next snow pole. These are painted orange and are tall enough for drivers to get their bearings in heavy snow.
As always, the most important thing to remember is to drive safe, whether snow, ice, rain or even the clearest of days. |
